Club Paradise Resort, Palawan

It was my husband’s first vacation (my fiance back then) in the Philippines so he wanted it to be as memorable as possible. After staying for 7 days in a very crowded Boracay, it’s time to relax in a secluded island of Coron, Palawan.

Mijn Liefje chose Club Paradise Resort out of the many island resorts available in the island.

Club Paradise is a high-end resort on Dimakya Island, Municipality of Coron. The island is part of the Calamian Group of Islands situated at the Northern tip of Palawan. Its biggest asset is its 700m Boracay-like sand beaches and the trapped-in-an-island kind of ambiance.

Getting there is not that bad. Commercial flights to Busuanga are readily available. We booked our flight via Airphil Express. As soon as we landed at Busuanga airport, we were greeted by our driver (I could not remember his name) but he was so pleasant and courteous. The ride from the airport to the boat port was quite bumpy due to the unpaved dirt road but it wasn’t a big deal because Club Paradise’s private van was comfortable and our driver did his very best to drive as smoothly as possible.

When we reached the island, we were welcomed by a very nice lady (forgot her name again)and we were given wet towels to freshen up.

It was indeed a warm welcome šŸ™‚

We were then ushered in front of the restaurant where three men were playing acoustic instruments and singing to welcome us. We were given cucumber shake as a welcome drink and oh boy it was so refreshing! We were then given the key to our room.

Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I’ve never been to a resort where every the staff that passes you by greeted you “Good morning/afternoon/evening, mam, sir”. Customer service is definitely superb! The three men playing and singing songs live at the restaurant at dinner time were good and provided entertainment as we ate. The food attendants were also attentive to our needs at the restaurant.

The water is crystal clear and the sand is powdery white! We both want to snorkel but the waves are not cooperating. There are only few guests during that time so we definitely enjoyed our moments together.

The food were just ok. We opted for full meals / buffet for our package as there was only one place to eat your meals. Food could be improved but we do understand that ingredients need to be shipped in daily into the island so the chef has some limits when preparing meals. The coffee they serve in the mornings could also use some improvement :). But otherwise, we have no complaints at all.

Rooms are cleaned everyday and they even had turn-down service at night. They also served mid-day and mid-afternoon snacks, plus they also offered cold towels to resort guests. These are little extras that make your stay more enjoyable.

It really was a great vacation for us as we were able to relax, enjoy the beach and spend some quiet time as a couple.

Would I book another vacation on this resort? I would have to think twice, actually. Though the service was great, I think other resorts like Lagen and Miniloc in El Nido offers more at the same price. But if I can score an online deal for this resort and get a discount, I would definitely stay on this resort again.
